Père Lachaise Cemetery is the largest cemetery in Paris (44 hectares ). It’s located on the Boulevard de Ménilmontant.
Père Lachaise is still an operating cemetery and accepting new burials. However, the rules to be buried in a Paris cemetery are rather strict: people may be buried in one of these cemeteries if they die in the French capital city or if they lived there.
Among them a long list of artists, musicians and other famous people from all over the world.
If you plan to visit this Cemetery, be sure to reserve a couple of hours. It’s huge !
Great pictures of this beautiful place. Thanks for sharing.
This cemetary is one of my favorite places in Paris. Every time i stay there i spend one afternoon on Pierre Lachaise.
