The old shoe factory.

Yesterday I went to an abandoned shoe factory, located in Belgium. What was once a huge shoe factory was now a place taken by nature. You can find the last shoes that did not make it to the store…

Also signs of the first computers were found in the factory. In the coming week, this place will be completely demolished. So these photos are the last witnesses.

Rotterdam

Rotterdam at night.

Rotterdam, city of architecture. On a cold day, I went from Belgium to Rotterdam for some long-exposure shot’s. From buildings to bridges, illuminated with lights in all colors. Enjoy 🙂

Shoot with Daisy

Last week we tested or studio setup with some friends. In the early morning we started unboxing our equipment and after some tests with the flashes or model was ready to pose.

For this shoot with model Daisy I used 2 studio flashes with soft box and 1 umbrella. The photos outside were with natural light and 1 Sunbounce reflector.

Along the Belgian coast.

Went for a walk along our Belgian coast (Nieuwpoort) with some friends.

While we were waiting for the sunset that was not coming, I took these photos.

They were taken with my D7200 and the Nikon 16-80. I did not have any filter but used the multiple exposure setting in my camera. Some post processing was done in lightroom.

City of Wings – Ypres

This year the “City of Wings” in Ypres was again the place to be for street artists. The yearly festival is held in Ypres on the 8-9-10 of April and is one of the biggest promotion festivals for street artists. Also, every  year hundreds of photographers come to the festival to take photos of the artist scene, the public and the magical environment. Last year, one of my photos ended in the photo exhibition. More info of the yearly festival can be found here.

FACTS, one of the biggest sci-fi, anime and comic festivals in the Benelux.

F.A.C.T.S. – may the force be with you…

FACTS is one of the biggest comics, sci fi and anime event in the Benelux. It’s yearly event in Ghent where every character come to life. A meeting place for cosplay. (cosplay = costume play, where people wear costumes and accessories to represent a character from a game or movie). One thing is for sure, it’s a good place to take a photo !

If you want more photo’s, there is a lot more on my Flickr page : click here

skatepark Stapelbäddsparken in Malmö (Sweden)

Stapelbäddsparken, skatepark in Malmö.

This 3000 square meter skatepark was build in 2005. Exclusively for skateboarding, no other activities allowed.

The turning torso in Malmö (Sweden)

The Turning Torso, a landmark in Malmö.

Recently I visited Malmö, where the Turning Torso rises up in the sky. The huge building is an architectural eyecatcher.

The Turning Torso is a residential skyscraper. With his 190 meters height it is the highest building in the Nordics.

krakow people

In the streets of Krakow…

Black and white series of photos taken during my stay in Krakow. A beautiful city, nice people. A couple of photos were taken in Kazimierz Jewish quarter and others were taken in the area around the main square. Krakow has everything for a good city trip.

Fair lights and bumper cars.

Went to the fair and took some shots of the colorful lights. Photography at the fair results in a mixture of light and movement.

A combination of long shutter speed, small aperture and flash light.

Time for a model shoot during imaging days.

During the ‘Imaging days’, there was an opportunity to do some model shoot’s. For me, another part of photography to explore. I did almost no post editing to the photos, only black and white and some small light adjustments.

Hope you like the result and feel free to send me any feedback 🙂

The royal depot.

Build between 1904 and 1906 according to plans from architect Van Humbeek, the Royal Depot was destined for long-term storage of goods under the control of the government.
As soon as you enter the site your eyes are drawn to the left to a breathtaking example of industrial architecture, with an imposing façade.

At the outside, there a some small constructions left from this huge industrial site.

abandoned house, view from the spooky windows.

This house was abandoned for some years. A little bit spooky, you could say it’s a scene from a horror movie.

I posted some photo’s last year from this house, but last week went back to take some new shots. So this post is updated with new photo’s.

Rhythm and structures, back to basics.

Everybody knows what rhythm is : something that is repeated over and over. It’s very easy to spot rhythm if you just look around in your daily world. And everyone can see it. But it’s so “normal” that not many people see the beauty of rhythm.

I’m sure after looking to this photo’s you will remark much easier rhythm in your daily life.

Abandoned hospital located in Belgium. Urban shoot of a lost place.

This hospital was build in 1965 and abandoned in 2009. Since then hit the decay.

I visited this place last week with a couple of friends. I think this building will soon be destroyed completely.

When a tomato hits the water…

What happens when a tomato hits the water ? After a dozen of shots, I had the result I wished. I edited this photo 3 times, and like you can see, it are 3 totally different photo’s. The first one is a bit old fashion style, the second is in black and white with the tomato in red and the last one is almost like it was shot. Enjoy 🙂

Streetlights and playing with the exposure time.

Last week went walking in Ypres and took these photo’s. You can see some street views with long exposure time and

transformed some photo’s to black and white.  And of course use a tripod 🙂

Transfo station in Belgium, from 1911 till 2001.

This abandoned transfo station is located in Zwevegem (Belgium). It was built in 1911 and used for over 90 years. Currently it is property of the city and a place for exhibitions and entertainment. The building and transfo’s are classified and being restored. The site is public and can be visited on specified hours or happenings.

I have some more photo’s of this place, I will post them in the next week.
