Abandoned

Abandoned places

The old shoe factory.

Yesterday I went to an abandoned shoe factory, located in Belgium. What was once a huge shoe factory was now a place taken by nature. You can find the last shoes that did not make it to the store…

Also signs of the first computers were found in the factory. In the coming week, this place will be completely demolished. So these photos are the last witnesses.

The laundry house

Last week I visited an abandoned building that was used as a flax dry and wash place. It was left alone since a couple of years. After entering the building, there was a view from the first floor on an old Mercedes that was fighting against time and decay. I took the photos in HDR, with some post-processing. This old factory is located in Flanders, in the region where once the textile industry was booming business.

The royal depot.

Build between 1904 and 1906 according to plans from architect Van Humbeek, the Royal Depot was destined for long-term storage of goods under the control of the government.
As soon as you enter the site your eyes are drawn to the left to a breathtaking example of industrial architecture, with an imposing façade.

At the outside, there a some small constructions left from this huge industrial site.

abandoned house, view from the spooky windows.

This house was abandoned for some years. A little bit spooky, you could say it’s a scene from a horror movie.

I posted some photo’s last year from this house, but last week went back to take some new shots. So this post is updated with new photo’s.

Abandoned hospital located in Belgium. Urban shoot of a lost place.

This hospital was build in 1965 and abandoned in 2009. Since then hit the decay.

I visited this place last week with a couple of friends. I think this building will soon be destroyed completely.

Transfo station in Belgium, from 1911 till 2001.

This abandoned transfo station is located in Zwevegem (Belgium). It was built in 1911 and used for over 90 years. Currently it is property of the city and a place for exhibitions and entertainment. The building and transfo’s are classified and being restored. The site is public and can be visited on specified hours or happenings.

I have some more photo’s of this place, I will post them in the next week.
